Armed Escort Officer

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a suburban residential area in Vereeniging. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Advanced driving course

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
