Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a suburban residential area in Bellville. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Bellville, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

What you need

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Clean criminal record and no pending cases

Extra points for

SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
First-aid Level 2 or 3
