Job Description

Clients in a suburban residential area in Pietermaritzburg pay for fast response, and this crew delivers it. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a suburban residential area in Pietermaritzburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

Must-haves

PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
First-aid Level 2 or 3
