Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every retail distribution centre; in Umlazi, you would be the one tracking it down. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Umlazi-based, with most of your time spent at a retail distribution centre.

What your day looks like

Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Share trends with the store manager each week
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft

You'll need

Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Good report writing
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Discreet, observant and honest
Able to handle confrontation calmly

Nice if you have

Retail loss prevention course
Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
