Security Area Manager (Night Rounds)

Step up from guarding into supervising on a hospital complex in Newcastle. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The site is in Newcastle; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows

• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Available after hours for emergencies
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters

• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts
• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app

• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
