Armed Reaction Officer (Business Parks)

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a suburban residential area in Hammarsdale. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a suburban residential area in Hammarsdale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Calm under pressure and physically fit

• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Advanced driving course

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Regular refresher shooting practice
