Armed Reaction Officer (Business Parks) – Experienced

When a panic button goes off in a farming district in Paarl, you are the one who arrives first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Paarl, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates

• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• At least 2 years in guarding or response

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
