Armed Reaction Officer (Business Parks)

You'll answer alarms across a suburban residential area in Potchefstroom in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Potchefstroom-based, with most of your time spent at a suburban residential area. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• Advanced driving course

• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Regular refresher shooting practice
