Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a mixed-use neighbourhood in Somerset West, you are the one who arrives first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a mixed-use neighbourhood in Somerset West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

You'll need

PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Calm under pressure and physically fit
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

Helpful, not essential

Advanced driving course
First-aid Level 2 or 3
