Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a suburban residential area in Durban Central, you are the one who arrives first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Durban Central-based, with most of your time spent at a suburban residential area. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end

What you need

Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Calm under pressure and physically fit
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

Helpful, not essential

Advanced driving course
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
