Armed Response Officer (Residential Patrols) – Experienced

When a panic button goes off in a business park in Epping, you are the one who arrives first. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a business park in Epping. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room

• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases

• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors

• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
