Job Description

This microlender call centre in Alberton needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Alberton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What your day looks like

  • Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
  • Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
  • Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
  • Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
  • Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
  • Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.

What you need

  • Target-driven and comfortable with commission
  • Clear credit and criminal record
  • Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
  • Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
