Job Description

Collections at a vehicle finance collections floor in Newcastle is about firm, fair conversations and steady numbers. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Newcastle (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.

What you need

Clear credit and criminal record
Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations

Extra points for

Legal collections or attorney-firm background
Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
