Assembly Line Operator (Component Plant) – Permanent

The wiring harness factory in East London needs operators who follow the standard work and speak up when something is wrong. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is East London-based, with most of your time spent at a wiring harness factory. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection

• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Grade 12 certificate
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights

• Learnership opportunities toward an artisan trade
• Shift allowance and paid overtime
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Transport from nearby townships on some routes

• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
