Assembly Line Operator (Component Plant)

Quality and speed go together at this wiring harness factory in Ermelo. You'll be part of that. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Ermelo-based, with most of your time spent at a wiring harness factory. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board
• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Keep your station clean using 5S rules

• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Grade 12 certificate
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus

• Previous experience in an automotive plant
• Basic computer skills
• Forklift licence for material handling

• Shift allowance and paid overtime

• Learnership opportunities toward an artisan trade

• Put your maths and English marks on your CV. Plants often use them to screen before the assessment.
• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
