Assembly Line Operator (Component Plant)

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the wiring harness factory in Gqeberha. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Load and unload robotic welding cells safely
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears

• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Can follow written and visual work instructions

• Forklift licence for material handling
• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
