Warranty Clerk (Dealership)

The workshop runs on good bookings and the right parts. This aftermarket spares shop in East London needs you on that side. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at an aftermarket spares shop in East London. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Count stock during cycle counts and year-end stocktake
• Order stock and special parts, and follow up on back orders
• Look up part numbers in the electronic parts catalogue using the VIN
• Open job cards and explain the work and cost before it starts
• Invoice completed jobs and explain the invoice at collection
• Load bookings in the dealer management system

• Computer literate with a dealer management system or parts software
• At least 2 years as a service advisor, parts interpreter or in a similar counter role
• Good working knowledge of car parts and basic vehicle systems
• Matric, plus a motor industry background

• Parts interpreter or service advisor course through merSETA
• Experience in a customer satisfaction survey-driven dealership

• Paid brand training
• Monthly CSI bonus for customer ratings
• Company uniform

• For parts jobs, say how quickly you can find a part using the VIN. Some interviews include a quick lookup test.
• If your customer satisfaction scores were good, give the score. It is the number dealers watch most.
