Assembly Line Worker (Furniture Plant) – Permanent

You'll keep the line running at a furniture assembly factory in Brackenfell, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Brackenfell, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines

• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Some basic first-aid training
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
