Assistant Accountant (Audit Firm Client Services)

A logistics company in Ermelo needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a logistics company in Ermelo. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
