Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract) – Fixed-Term

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a logistics company in Middelburg (MP). Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Middelburg (MP)-based, with most of your time spent at a logistics company.

• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• Completed articles at an audit firm
