Job Description

A personal injury and medical negligence firm in Brits needs an attorney who can draft, advise and stand up in court. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Brits. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Record billable time and hit the monthly target
Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
Appear in the magistrate's court, CCMA, Labour Court or High Court as your matters need
Brief counsel and prepare them for trial and opposed motions
Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses

You'll need

Sound judgement under deadline pressure
LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa
Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts
