Au Pair / Nanny (After-School Care) – Entry Level

You'll keep a guesthouse with family quarters in Atlantis clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Atlantis-based, with most of your time spent at a guesthouse with family quarters.

• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines

• Experience caring for an older person
• Cooking experience with family meals
• Non-smoker

• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Transport money for live-out staff
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
