Bar Attendant (Weekend Shift)

Good service at a family steakhouse in Stellenbosch starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Stellenbosch; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.

• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure

• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
