Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a distribution warehouse in Kathu for PSIRA-registered officers. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Kathu, Northern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Provident fund contributions
