Job Description

Residents and staff at a construction yard in Midrand need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Midrand, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Hand out and collect contractor access cards
Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer

What you need

Clean criminal record
Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
Speaks and writes basic English
Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
