Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park) – Fixed-Term

The gate at an office tower in Mokopane is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in Mokopane (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Put your PSIRA number and grade right under your name. Recruiters check it on the PSIRA system before they even phone you.
