Job Description

Every wall and slab on this townhouse construction site in Komani needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Komani-based, with most of your time spent at a townhouse construction site. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed

Must-haves

Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Grade 8 or higher
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

On offer

Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days

Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
