Calf Rearer (Dairy Farm) – Fixed-Term

Animals do not take weekends off, and a piggery near Epping needs caring, reliable hands. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a piggery. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures
• Keep water troughs and drinkers working
• Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
• Help the vet with vaccinations and treatments
• Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time
• Milk cows in the parlour following the milking routine

• South African ID or a legal work permit
• Gentle and patient with animals
• Comfortable around large animals
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
• Able to live on the farm or close by

• Milk or meat rations
• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets
• Training in animal health

• Say which animals you have worked with and for how long. Farmers want someone who already knows the routine.
• Stress reliability. Explain that you understand milking or feeding cannot be skipped.
