Candidate Attorney (Road Accident Fund Claims) – Fixed-Term

You'll do your articles at a commercial law firm in Gqeberha and learn the practice from the ground up. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Prepare trial bundles and discovery affidavits
• Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
• Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters
• Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
• Issue and serve documents at the magistrate's court and High Court
• Keep matter files updated and diarise court dates and deadlines
• Record your time on the practice management system every day

• Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
• Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
• Good legal research and clear written English
• Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
