Job Description

A commercial law firm in Harrismith has space for a law graduate ready to start practical vocational training. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Harrismith. Relocation is not covered for this one.

What you'll actually do

Prepare trial bundles and discovery affidavits
Research case law and legislation on SAFLII and Juta or LexisNexis
Record your time on the practice management system every day
Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters
Take instructions from clients and write clear attendance notes

You'll need

Good legal research and clear written English
Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
Code B driver's licence and a reliable car for court runs
LLB degree from a South African university
Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
Clear criminal record, as required for admission
