Candidate Electrical Engineer (ECSA) – Immediate Start

The manufacturing plant in Bloemfontein needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Bloemfontein, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097

• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites

• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
• PLC programming certification
• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
