Job Description

You'll turn engineers' sketches into accurate drawings for the steel fabrication company in Sasolburg. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a steel fabrication company on the Sasolburg side of Free State.

What your day looks like

Draw general arrangements, details and fabrication drawings in AutoCAD or Inventor
Update drawings after engineer comments and track revisions
Produce bills of materials from 3D models
Take site measurements to check existing conditions
Draft civil layouts, longitudinal sections and cross sections for services

Must-haves

National Diploma or N6 in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a draughting qualification
Understanding of engineering drawing standards and tolerances
Able to read engineers' mark-ups and ask the right questions
Neat and accurate, with a habit of checking your own work

Extra points for

Workshop or site background
Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technician
Experience with plant piping design software
