Job Description

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the manufacturing plant in Centurion. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Centurion-based, with most of your time spent at a manufacturing plant.

The work, day to day

Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2

You'll need

At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications

Helpful, not essential

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
