Job Description

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the bulk water utility in Centurion. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Centurion-based, with most of your time spent at a bulk water utility. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Write design reports and handover documents
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts

Must-haves

Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering

Helpful, not essential

Contract management training for NEC or GCC
Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
