Job Description

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the paper and packaging mill in Worcester. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Worcester, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes

What you need

Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Code 08 licence for site visits
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level

Helpful, not essential

Finite element analysis skills
Project management certificate
