Candidate Quantity Surveyor

The main building contractor in Bloemfontein needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a main building contractor in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Hybrid days in the office and on site

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
