CCTV Monitoring Officer (Night Roster)

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at a remote video monitoring centre in Soweto. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a remote video monitoring centre in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Matric

• CCTV operator short course
• Call centre work in the past

• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
