Job Description

Hard, outdoor work on a sawmill near Polokwane, with training on chainsaws and fire safety. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

What your day looks like

Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Feed logs into sawmill machines and stack planks
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
Stack logs by length for loading onto trucks

What you need

Willing to work in remote areas
Valid ID
Passes the medical check for fire crews
Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
Available for early starts and fire-season standby

Helpful, not essential

Fire fighting training
Previous plantation or sawmill experience
First-aid training
