Nursery Worker (Seedlings) – Immediate Start

You'll pick, prune and look after crops on a vegetable farm near Polokwane through the season. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a vegetable farm on the Polokwane side of Limpopo. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Prune and thin fruit trees and vines to the farm's method
• Pick fruit or vegetables at the right ripeness and size, gently
• Keep your picking card or tag count for daily pay
• Tie up tomato and pepper plants in tunnels
• Wash hands and use the field toilets for food safety
• Weed beds by hand or with a hoe
• Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point

• Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
• Willing to start at sunrise
• Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
• Available for the full harvest season

• Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees
• Living on or near the farm

• Seasonal accommodation on some farms
• Farm transport from nearby towns
• Piece-rate bonus on top of daily wage
• Chance of a permanent post after good seasons

• Have your bank details ready. Most farms pay into a bank account and will not start you without it.
• If you have picked before, say which crop and how many seasons. Farms rehire experienced pickers first.
