Chalet Housekeeper (Self-Catering Resort)

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a self-catering resort in Boksburg to a checklist standard. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a self-catering resort on the Boksburg side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.

• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• Weekend and public holiday work
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
• Grade 10 or higher
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift

• Laundry machine and steam press experience
• Chemical handling training

• Meals on duty
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts

• A clean, clear police clearance helps; mention it if you have a recent one.
• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
