Chalet Housekeeper (Self-Catering Resort)

Housekeeping keeps a bush lodge in Mamelodi running quietly in the background. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Mamelodi. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.

• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
• Weekend and public holiday work

• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Monthly award for best room scores

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
