Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

You'll look after tables at a sports bar and grill in Boksburg, from the first greeting to the final bill. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a sports bar and grill in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.

• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests

• Responsible Service of Alcohol training
• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
• Put the names of the restaurants you worked at and your average covers per shift at the top of your CV.
