Civil Draughtsperson (Municipal Services)

The civil and structural consultancy in Vereeniging needs a draughtsperson who gets the dimensions right the first time. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a civil and structural consultancy. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Update drawings after engineer comments and track revisions
• Produce bills of materials from 3D models
• Check shop drawings from subcontractors against design drawings
• Take site measurements to check existing conditions
• Model steel structures in Tekla and produce shop drawings and cutting lists
• Follow SANS 10111 drawing conventions and the office title block standard

• Advanced skills in AutoCAD plus one 3D package
• Neat and accurate, with a habit of checking your own work
• Good time planning when several projects need drawings at once
• National Diploma or N6 in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a draughting qualification

• Workshop or site background
• Revit or Civil 3D experience

• Two-screen workstation
• Paid training on new software
• Latest CAD software licences
• Hybrid work once you are settled in

• A good drawing portfolio beats a long CV. Show a range: general arrangement, details and a 3D model view.
