Civil Engineer (Water and Sanitation)

This civil engineering consultancy in Stellenbosch needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Stellenbosch-based, with most of your time spent at a civil engineering consultancy. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
• Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
• Write design reports and handover documents
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
• Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries

• Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site

• Contract management training for NEC or GCC
• Registration with SAICE and active CPD
• Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
