Job Description

Roads, water, buildings: the structural design practice in Boksburg needs a civil engineer who can take a project from design to site. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Boksburg. Relocation is not covered for this one.

What your day looks like

Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Write design reports and handover documents
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures

Must-haves

Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
