Job Description

Hard outdoor work on a road rehabilitation project in Polokwane, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Polokwane. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work

Must-haves

Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Willing to start early, often at 06:30

On offer

Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
Paid weekly or fortnightly
