Cloud Engineer (AWS)

A data centre in Randburg needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a data centre in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Document network diagrams and change records
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills

• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge

• ISO 27001 audit experience
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible

• Company laptop, phone and home internet allowance

• Be ready to talk through an outage you fixed, step by step; it's a common interview question.
• Mention the environment size, such as "120 VMs, 14 sites, 900 users", as it tells recruiters your level.
