Job Description

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for a manufacturing group with several sites in Soweto. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Soweto-based, with most of your time spent at a manufacturing group with several sites. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget

What you need

Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
Clear change management and documentation habits
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration

Helpful, not essential

Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
ISO 27001 audit experience
Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
