Job Description

You'll carry passengers safely around Khayelitsha for a mine shift transport service, on time and by the timetable. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Khayelitsha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

The work, day to day

Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel
Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives

Must-haves

Medically fit
Clean driving and criminal record
Punctual for very early starts
Patient and friendly with passengers
Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
Valid PrDP for passengers (P)

Extra points for

Fluent in more than one language
Experience on mine or staff transport routes
