Job Description

Passengers in Hammarsdale trust a school transport operator to get them there safely, and that trust is on your shoulders. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a school transport operator in Hammarsdale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel
Check passenger tickets, tags or staff cards when boarding
Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked

You'll need

Punctual for very early starts
Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
Patient and friendly with passengers
Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence

Helpful, not essential

First-aid certificate
Fluent in more than one language
Experience on mine or staff transport routes
